Ad pollution in Space

Thursday, March 11th, 2004

A Russian inventor has patented ads in Space. The general idea is to create artificial constellations of reflective satellites. It is unclear if the satellites will move the mirrors to change the message, or if the satellites placement relative to one another will be the way the message is changed. Getting satellites arranged, and staying arranged will be a very interesting task since geosynchronous orbits only happen over the equator. Robert Heinlein Predicted years ago that someone would paint an iconic logo onto the moon – his idea was to use rockets to spray carbon dust over the surface of the moon.

Chicken and Bean Salad

Tuesday, March 9th, 2004

If there is no microwave at your office lunch can be a depressing parade of sandwich after sandwich. This is a great change, and requires no heating.

1 can (14 oz/ 400ml) Chick Peas
1 cup kernel corn (canned or frozen)
1 cup cubed cooked chicken
3/4 cup diced red bell pepper
2 green onions chopped
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4-1/2 hot pepper sauce

In a medium bowl combine all, toss gently, chill until serving. Nice to marinade overnite
